It’s obvious you should celebrate at a wedding. You can celebrate for love, for happiness, for religion. You can celebrate for awesome details, light, flowers and even a kick-ass band. You can celebrate for your guests flying from all over just to be a part of your day.
But you know what else should be celebrated?
Something we sometimes forget about in the fray of a wedding day?
See, a few days before this wedding, Julia’s father had a heart attack. For a while there, it would have been touch and go. They probably didn’t know if he was going to make it. Let alone make it back in time for a father to walk a daughter down an aisle on her wedding day. But on the day, at even a hint of a chance, even an idea that he could get on a plane and fly back to Jimbour after having surgery — they delayed the entire ceremony. See, when it all boils down to it — It doesn’t matter about the perfect light or time of day.
But family does.
Along with the details, the flowers, the cake and the dress. We ought to celebrate family, too.
Weddings are only a moment in time.
But family is forever.
And yes …. Julia had her father walk her down the aisle. And it was amazing.
